I'm Giovanni Dori. I hand-finish walls — Venetian plaster, microcement, marble, gold leaf — the way a trained artist does it, not just a tradesman. Most projects need exactly that: one exceptional finish, from one hand. For the projects that call for more, I also paint original art to go with it, designed alongside the wall if that's what you want. Trained in Italy. Over 20 years on the trowel and the canvas both.

Why the hand is an artist's, not just a tradesman's
Plaster specialists don't paint. Painters don't trowel a burnished marmorino finish across six metres and keep it even. Most wall finishers have never trained as artists — the finish is fine, but it lacks the depth that comes from twenty years on canvas too.
I trained in Italy — marble, granite, glass and mirror carving, fine painting. Twenty-plus years on the trowel and the canvas both. That's not a claim, it's craftsmanship. Every finish I apply carries an artist's sense of light and depth, whether or not there's art in the project. For the projects that call for more, the wall finish and an original piece can be designed together, by the same hand. No other studio in Sydney offers that.
